What this treatment does
UroLift® treats the urinary symptoms of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) mechanically rather than chemically. Small permanent implants hold the enlarged lobes of the prostate away from the urethra, reopening the channel urine travels through.
Because no tissue is cut, heated, or removed, UroLift is typically performed in our Palm Springs office and does not require a hospital stay. It is often chosen by patients who want symptom relief without daily BPH medication and who wish to preserve sexual function.
How it works
Step by step

Evaluation
Symptom scoring, a uroflow study, post-void residual measurement, and a prostate exam confirm that obstruction — not another cause — is driving your symptoms.

The procedure
Through the urethra, a small delivery device places permanent implants that hold the prostate lobes open. The visit typically takes well under an hour.

Follow-up
We recheck flow and symptom scores after healing to confirm the obstruction has been relieved and to adjust any remaining medications.
